Final Iteration: Mozilla's Winter Design Challenge "The Home Tab"
Project Brief:
This is the second iteration of my entry for the Mozilla Winter Design Challenge. My concept revolves around the idea that a user's daily browsing represents only a few key tasks or objectives. Shouldn't the browser provide you with a way to easily group all of the tabs and windows related to your objective so you can stop a web search and continue it later? My concept automatically groups these tabs together and offers several options to restore all or parts of your session.
Improvement over Version 1:
Based on some of the other ideas floating around on the forums, I have designed the ability to sync your sessions between devices. You can now start a session on your phone and continue it on your desktop, or vice versa. I think that this concept accurately reflects the usage pattern of consumers and will fit directly in line with the Weave project.
To support my "mobile home tab" idea, I created another version of the concept tailored to work within Fennec. You can view a web mockup, open the page within one of the desktop betas of Fennec, or directly on a supported device.
